Born in Jamaica, Valerie Bloom is one of the most highly regarded poets writing today and is a popular performer in schools. She was awarded an MBE in the 2008 New Year Honours List. She lives in Kent, England.

Liz Brownlee is a poet, performer and film-maker. Much of her work is about animals and she is a frequent visitor to schools with her guidance dog, Lola. She recently collaborated with Matt Goodfellow and Roger Stevens on the acclaimed collection The Same Inside, poems about empathy and friendship. She lives in Bristol.

James Carter is a prize-winning poet, guitarist and educational writer. He travels all over the UK to give poetry performances and workshops, and is the author of many best-selling poetry books including Hey Little Bug! and I'm a Little Alien. James lives in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Mandy Coe is an acclaimed poet whose verse for children and adults has featured on BBC radio and television. Her work on teaching poetry has been published by the TES, Bloomsbury and CUP, and she is a Visiting Fellow of The Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University. She co-authored Our thoughts are bees: Writers Working with Schools and her poems can be heard on ‘Talking Poetry’, BBC Schools Radio and at the Poetry Archive. Her first collection for children, If You Could See Laughter, was shortlisted for the CLPE Poetry Award. She lives in Liverpool.

Rachel Rooney worked as a teacher of special needs children while also bringing up her three sons. She is much in demand for school workshops, and for performances of her work at festivals. Her first poetry collection, The Language of Cat, was published in 2011 and won the CLPE prize, followed by My Life as a Goldfish in 2014. A Kid in My Class was shortlisted for the CLiPPA Children's Poetry Prize in 2019. Rachel lives in Brighton.
