TRIPLE PRIZEWINNER! – Now also winner of the CLiPPA Award for Children's Poetry
The stunning success of Matt Goodfellow's verse novel 'The Final Year' continues as it wins the UK's only (and highly prestigious) prize for children's poetry: the CLiPPA Award, run by the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, in a ceremony on June 12 at London's National Theatre. Kate Wakeling's 'A Dinosaur at the Bus Stop' was on the shortlist for the same award (see 'Our CLiPPA Shortlist Titles'). 'The Final Year' has already been chosen by children as 'Best Book for Older Readers' in the Federation of Children's Book Groups 2024 awards. 'The Final Year is also Winner of The Spark! Book Award for Readers 11+, 2024; Best Classroom Read-Aloud Book (Upper KS2) (Books for Topics).
